21 October 2024 , Rajkot: In a match that will go down as one of the most thrilling encounters of the season, CSCS edged past Hyderabad by a narrow margin of one run in the BCCI Vinoo Mankad Trophy quarter-final at Rajkot. The nail-biting victory ensured CSCS advancement to the semi-finals, where they will face Bengal.
Batting first, CSCS posted a competitive total on the back of crucial contributions from Sahil Rajat and Upendra Yadav who scored 73 and 77 runs repectively . Sahil Rajat anchored the innings with a composed knock, ensuring stability at one end, while Upendra Yadav’s aggressive stroke play kept the scoreboard ticking. The duo’s fine partnership laid a solid foundation for CSCS, which proved to be just enough in a high-pressure match.
Hyderabad, in reply, came agonizingly close to chasing down the target , they were 139/3 in 22.4 overs when the match was interrupted by Rain and further play was not possible. According to the VJD Method Hyderabad were short by just 1 run and lost the match.
